Cruisers Yachts 2007 Catalog Receives “Best of Show” Recognition, Again

Honor is second time Wisconsin yacht builder has taken category

OCONTO, Wis. (January 31, 2007) - The 2007 Catalog from Cruisers Yachts, a premier manufacturer of luxury yachts, received the “Best of Show” award at the recently held Greater Milwaukee Graphic Arts Association’s (GMGAA) Gallery of Superb Print Awards Show. The over-sized, 88-page metallic bronze catalog sparkles on the boat docks and has been called “truly luxe” by industry experts and customers. The book was designed by its advertising agency BVK in Milwaukee, Wis., and was entered into the awards show by printer, Burton & Mayer, also of Milwaukee.

This is the second year in-a-row that the Cruisers Yachts catalog has received the “Best of Show” recognition. Last year, its over-sized sleek black catalog demanded the judge’s attention.

“We are thrilled to have received this honor a second time for our catalog,” said Jim Viestenz, president of KCS International, parent company of Cruisers Yachts. “Last year, we pushed BVK to create a piece that would make us stand out among the stacks at boat shows. This year we challenged them again. BVK succeed by developing a collection book that is not only useable, but radiates high class and is very alluring. We can’t wait to see what they come up with for next year.”

The annual print show has been held during International Print Week for the past 15 years. This year, 20 Southeastern Wisconsin companies submitted 75 entries which were judged on quality and the difficulty of the graphic arts processes used. Each entry is considered for Honorable Mention, Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards. The Gold recipients are automatically eligible for the “Best of Show” award.

This is the second time Burton & Mayer has received the top honor, both times with the Cruisers Yachts catalog. As a “Best of Show” winner, the catalog has been entered into the International Association of Printing House Craftsmen’s (IAPHC) Gallery of Superb Print competition being held this June. Recognized as one of the world’s premier printing events, the Cruisers Yachts catalog will compete against entries from Asia, Europe and other areas.
